The Western Electric Company was founded in 1872 by Eros M. Barton and Elisha Gray in Chicago, Illinois. Its industry was telecommunications and it was headquartered in New York City, New York. It went defunct in 1995 after it's parent, AT&T Technologies, Inc. changed its name to Lucent Technologies, Inc.
