The General Foods Corporation was founded in 1895 (incorporated October 22, 1896) by Charles W. Post in Battle Creek, Michigan. It's industry includes food processing while it's headquarters were in Battle Creek, Michigan (1895-1929) and Manhattan, New York (1929-1954) White Plains, New York (1954-1989). In 1985 the company was acquired by the Philip Morris Companies, Inc. who merged it with Kraft Foods in 1989, forming Kraft General Foods.
