The Bell Telephone Company of Canada was founded on April 29, 1880 in Montreal, Quebec by Alexander M. Bell and Thomas P. Henderson. Its industry is telecommunications and its headquarters have remained in Montreal, Quebec. It was owned by the Bell Telephone Company from 1880 until 1899. In 1899 it was acquired by the American Telephone and Telegram Company who owned it until 1975. In 1983 it was acquired by Bell Canada Enterprises.
